Little Smile Clock — Support
Little Smile Clock helps children understand their day without reading the time. It works on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later.
What do the colours mean?
- Red Time to rest.
- Orange Your child may play quietly in their room.
- Green Your child may come out.
The face turns orange at the profile's wake time, green after its play duration, and red at its sleep time. Little Smile Clock is a visual guide; it does not sound an alarm.
Setting up the clock
1. Open Settings in the app.
2. Tap Manage with Face ID or Manage with Touch ID to unlock parent controls.
3. Set the profile name, sleep time, wake time, and play duration. You can also set how often the face blinks and changes expression.
4. Choose a character and adjust the clock display brightness if you wish.
5. Tap Done and leave the clock open overnight.
Changes are saved automatically. You can create separate profiles, such as one for weekdays and one for weekends, and select the profile you want to use.
Common questions
Why can't I edit the times?
Schedule and profile controls require Face ID or Touch ID. Set up biometrics in your device's Settings, then tap Manage with Face ID or Manage with Touch ID in the app. Parent controls lock again when you close Settings or put the app in the background.
Why did the clock stop showing?
Keep Little Smile Clock open in the foreground. The app keeps the screen awake while it is active, but it cannot display over another app or the device's lock screen. If you reopen it, the face updates to the correct colour for the current time.
Why is the colour different from what I expected?
Check the device's date and time, the active profile, and that profile's sleep time, wake time, and play duration. Sleep time takes priority if it falls during the orange period.
Can my child choose a different animal?
Yes. Character selection is available without unlocking parent controls.
Does the brightness slider change my device brightness?
No. It dims only the clock display, with a minimum of 10%.
Why does “Good morning!” disappear later in the day?
That message is shown only until midday. The green face still means your child may come out.
